2014 National Business Finance Scholarship Winner

Preston and Luz 50 Year 320

The Common Knowledge Scholarship Foundation awarded Luz Davila as the 2014 National Business Finance Scholarship Winner. She discovered the scholarship opportunity through a professor and decided to participate in it. Luz won by logging on to the CKSF website and scoring the highest on a series of quizzes. She completed the quiz in less than five minutes, Luz explained that her secret to winning was using the notes she had taken from her finance class. The quiz questions correlated to what she learned in her finance class. Luz attends the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship at Nova Southeastern University and has hopes of becoming a financial analyst.

In a tuition back scholarship, the winner receives money back for a course at the college they attend. In order to be eligible for this scholarship, participants have to be current undergraduate or graduate business students. As students begin college, they find that there is little financial assistance available to them. CKSF develops scholarships such as the Tuition Back program for current college students. The Tuition Back Scholarships cover specific courses relating to Nursing, Business, and Education. Quizzes are based on the core courses for each of these majors.

Unlike other scholarships that can take time away from your studies to complete, this scholarship is designed to help students review and practice for their final exams, making it easy for any college student to participate. Basically, studying for your regular exams would increase your chances of winning the scholarship. If the winner attends a school that participates in tuition back scholarships then they can receive up to $1,000 in tuition back money. CKSF is continually expanding the scholarships available in the tuition back program.

If you are interested in participating simply go to www.cksf.org and register.
