Danielle Callanan and Sophia Huda, MBA students at Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) Huizenga School of Business, recently earned $500 of their tuition back simply by studying and by winning an online quiz scholarship based on their corporate finance course.
The Corporate Finance Scholarship is part of the Common Knowledge Scholarship Foundation’s (CKSF) Tuition Back Scholarships, which provide students the chance to win their tuition back one course at a time without filling out forms or writing essays that take time away from studying. This revolutionary scholarship concept rewards college students who study hard and master their course content.
The scholarship was a collaborative effort between CKSF and Dr. Piya Chayanuwat, a finance professor at the Huizenga School. Dr. Chayanuwat developed the scholarship quiz questions, allowing CKSF to make the online competition available to business students nationwide.
“Having the opportunity to be part of this great Tuition Back program and great organization like CKSF made me realize the impact it could have on students both academically and financially,” said Dr. Chayanuwat. “The quiz can be used as an assessment tool for their knowledge in corporate finance and/or as a preparation tool for their exams. I wish there were more programs similar to the Tuition Back by CKSF available to our students.”
The two winners were proudly recognized by Dr. J. Preston Jones, dean of the Huizenga School. The Dean encouraged the continued development of the business school scholarship program.
Daryl Hulce, CKSF president and NSU alumnus, provided the scholarship funding to award the national winner and guarantee that two NSU students receive their tuition back.
The Corporate Finance Scholarship is the start to a much larger business school tuition back program, which will include: Principles of Management, Organizational Behavior, Business Finance, and Accounting. Students interested in participating should visit www.cksf.org and register for access to current and future scholarship opportunities.
